PERCEPCIÓN Y TRATAMIENTO DEL SUSTO POR MADRES DE FAMILIA DE LA CIUDAD DE TARAPOTO, AMAZONÍA PERUANA
Resumen
Se exploró la percepción sobre el susto o manchari de 45 madres de familia de la ciudad de Tarapoto, Amazonia Peruana. Las entrevistadas mostraron un adecuado nivel cognitivo de este síndrome cultural en el cual conflyen factores de riesgo personal y causas externas. El conocimiento y el abordaje del susto mediante técnicas de medicina tradicional muestra un conocimiento común entre madres y curanderos locales, y que es al mismo tiempo acorde con la literatura existente sobre el tema.
Abstract
The perception about susto or manchari of 45 mothers from the city of Tarapoto, Peruvian Amazon, was explored. The interviewees showed an adequate cognitive level of this cultural syndrome in which personal risk factors and external causes converge. The knowledge and approach to susto through traditional medicine techniques show a common knowledge between mothers and local healers, which at the same time is consistent with the existing literature on the subject.
