MIRADAS DESDE LA DECOLONIALIDAD
Raza, racismo y nuevo racismo en México
Resumen
El artículo reflxiona en torno a un tema importante en México, la reproducción de viejos y nuevos racismos contra los pueblos indígenas. Se recurre a la perspectiva histórica para comprender y analizar el origen de estas prácticas y su permanencia en el habitus mexicano. La premisa que guía la investigación es que estas prácticas tienen raigambre en la colonización, la conformación del Estado-nación y las políticas indigenistas posrevolucionarias, etapas en las que se consolidaron representaciones sociales del indígena, que permanecen e incentivan el racismo. Por ello, el artículo se posiciona como una mirada decolonial del fenómeno, siendo un aporte a la reflxión suscitada al interior de la Antropología en particular y de las Ciencias Sociales en general. Para cumplir los objetivos se revisó exhaustivamente literatura sobre los ejes temáticos y los aportes de teóricos que han abonado a la delimitación conceptual y explicación del fenómeno en otras latitudes del mundo. Con esta investigación se construye un marco de referencia histórico para mostrar al racismo como un fenómeno de larga duración en México y como una particularidad de la modernidad.
Abstract
The article reflcts on the reproduction of old and new racisms against indigenous peoples in Mexico, an important contemporary issue. Th historical perspective is used to understand and analyze the origin of these practices and their permanence in the Mexican habitus. The premise guiding this research is that these practices have roots in colonization, the conformation of the nation-state and post-revolutionary indigenist policies, stages during which social representations of the indigenous were consolidated, and which in some respect remain, encouraging racism today. Threfore, the article is positioned as a decolonial critique of the phenomenon, and as a contribution to the reflction raised within Anthropology in particular and the Social Sciences in general. Thse objectives were achieved through thorough literature reviews on the thematic axes and the theoretical advancements of the conceptual delimitation and explanation of the phenomenon in other latitudes of the world. Ths research relies on a framework of historical reference to show racism as a long-lasting phenomenon in Mexico and as a particularity of modernity.
