OTRA FORMA DE CAMINAR. LA DANZA OTOMÍ DE PASTORAS DE SAN ILDEFONSO TULTEPEC

Resumen

En la comunidad de San Ildefonso Tultepec, Amealco, se realiza La Danza de Mujeres o Danza de Pastoras. Dicha danza forma parte de los elementos de la costumbre, es decir, de las acciones que fueron heredadas por los antepasados, por “los de más antes”, mismas que son vistas como un trabajo a ofrendar, el cual permite una buena relación entre la comunidad y las divinidades. La Danza es realizada por mujeres de distintas edades, pertenecientes a los barrios de San Ildefonso, en el marco de las acciones festivas a los santos que se encuentran en las capillas y en el templo de la comunidad. En este trabajo se argumenta que dentro de la cosmología otomí la danza es otra forma de caminar. En este estudio se analiza la Danza de Mujeres como una red de relaciones (Lévi-Strauss, 1995) que permite dilucidar varios aspectos de la vida comunitaria de San Ildefonso Tultepec, como las formas en que se organiza la danza, basada en un sistema de cargos, las actividades festivas relacionadas al ciclo agrícola, la música de la costumbre, las conceptualizaciones locales sobre danza, belleza, alegría, vida, trabajo y ofrenda, así como las relaciones de intercambio entre los habitantes de la comunidad.

Abstract
In the municipality of Amealco, in San Ildefonso Tultepec, State of Queretaro, Mexico, there is a dance that is executed by Otomi women called La Danza de Mujeres or Danza de Pastoras. Ths dance is one of the elements of the custom, which is to say, the actions inherited from the ancestors, from “those of before,” which are considered as form of work and an offring that fosters good relations between the community and its divinities. Danza de Pastoras is performed by women of diffrent ages, belonging to the neighborhoods of San Ildefonso. Ths dance is performed during the festivities of saints found int the churches and temples of the community. Ths paper argues that within the Otomi cosmology, dancing is another way to walk. In this study, the La Danza de Mujeres is analyzed as a network of relations (Lévi-Strauss, 1995) that allows us to see various aspects of the community and life of San Ildefonso Tultepec, for example: the organization of the dance itself by way of a cargo system, the festive activities related to agriculture, the music of this custom, local concepts pertaining to dance, beauty, joy, life, work and ritual offring, along with the relations of exchange between community members.
