MIGRACIÓN LABORAL Y EL ACCESO A LA SALUD PÚBLICA EN LA CIUDAD DE ARICA –CHILE

Abstract

El propósito de este artículo es dar a conocer como el crecimiento de la inmigración laboral en la ciudad de Arica, ha traído consigo nuevos desafíos al estado chileno especialmente en el ámbito de la salud pública, no sólo por las políticas que han implementado los últimos gobiernos, sino por la fuerte desinformación que existe en este colectivo sobre sus derechos. Por esto es importante la atención basada en un trato humanizado respetando las creencias, valores y origen étnico del paciente. Mejorar la atención pública es un compromiso del estado, por lo que la discusión se centra en un análisis de las razones porque los inmigrantes que sufren accidentes o problemas de salud derivados de su actividad laboral no acuden al servicio de emergencia y por otro lado, se revisaran las distintas propuestas del personal de salud para mejorar la atención a estos.

Abstract
ThE purpose of this article is to show how the growth of labor immigration in the city of Arica, has brought new challenges to the Chilean state especially in the fild of public health, not only because of the policies implemented by the last governments, but by the strong misinformation that exists in this group about their rights. For that reason, it is important the attention based on a human treatment, respecting beliefs, values and ethnic origin of the patient. Improve public attention is a commitment of the state, so the discussion focuses on an analysis of the reasons why immigrants who suffr accidents or health problems because their work do not go to the emergency service and on the other hand they will review the diffrent proposals of health personnal to improve the attention to them.
